Amazon Back To School Shop
Amazon teams in Virginia and Washington wanted to create a back-to-school shopping experience for families in under-resourced communities. Too often, companies looking to give back provide generic items that don’t suite the needs — let alone personalities — of the recipients. Not here.
At Amazon’s Back To School Shop, students and their families were guided through a shopping experience that offered choice and customization at every turn. The ability to choose gave parents what they needed and students what they wanted, creating an overwhelmingly positive experience for everyone involved.
500+ students served. 5,000+ school supplies distributed.
Impact that went far beyond numbers.

I want to thank you all for all your time, support, effort, professionalism, and above all the love and attention with which you listen and help the families that need your help.

We had a woman cry with relief when she realized it was $150 for each of her children, because of the burden it took off of her.

The excitement we saw from these students and families showed us the human impact of the program.
